Objective To explore the trait of army pilots and their influencing factors, and to take psychological intervention in order to improve their mental health. Methods A random cluster sampling method was used to evaluate the characteristics of 390 driver traits by using the trait coping style questionnaire (CSQ). Results The driver’s positive trait coping style score was significantly lower than that of the norm (t = -26.41, P <0.01), negative trait coping style score was significantly higher than the norm (t = 36.56, P <0.05) Correlation analysis showed that there was a significant negative correlation between military driver’s education level and negative coping style score (r = -0.121, P <0.01), and the score of positive coping style of married people was higher than that of unmarried people (t = 7.78, (R = 0.107, P <0.05). The multivariate stepwise regression analysis showed that only the education level was included in the regression equation of negative trait coping style (t = 2.396, P = 0.017). Conclusions The characteristics of army pilots’ coping styles are more negative than the general population. Marital status, educational level and traffic error are the main factors affecting the driver’s trait coping style.
