Since the 20th century, many post-modern and contemporary schools of painting in the West have spread all over China at an extremely rapid pace and have been explored and followed by a considerable number of contemporary Chinese painters. In the meantime, such an emerging trend has had some negative impacts. This trend has really played a role as a weathervane for some painters, while some painters have been blown away by this powerful trend.
