待诏原本是一个词语,意即等待诏命。秦汉以后,待诏成为一种具有临时和候补性质的职官名,并发展为古代官制系统中一个特殊的类型。在汉代,入仕之初的人常常待诏公车,而待诏金马门则是较高身份和地位的象征。汉代待诏的人很多,来源也很复杂,有很多不同的名目,文献中出现的“待诏”一词也有很多不同的用法,这些都值得认真清理和研究。
