品牌名称翻译是企业拓展海外市场重要的一步,有歧义的品牌名称会影响产品的销量和产生误会。本文从文化和消费者心理等角度探讨了品牌名称命名原则并结合日用品翻译实例阐述了音译,直译,意译和臆造四种翻译技巧,为日用品品牌名称翻译提供了一定的参考。
Brand name translation is an important step for enterprises to expand overseas markets. Ambiguous brand names will affect product sales and misunderstandings. This article discusses the naming principles of brand names from the perspectives of culture and consumer psychology, and expounds four translation skills of transliteration, literal translation, free translation and conjecture combining examples of daily necessities translation, which provides some reference for the translation of brand names of daily necessities.
