为选育适应亚热带种植的多年生牧草新品种,改良草山草坡,解决冬青枯草期饲草需要,江西农业大学饲料研究所经过7年的工作,从野生纤毛鹅观草中选育出多年生牧草新品种81—01纤毛鹅观草获得成功. 该草具有多年生、早生快发,再生力强的特点。耐瘠薄、高温、干旱和寒冷。越冬率和越夏率较高,竞争性强,产量较高,质量较好.在较好,一般和较差的栽培条件下,平均亩产鲜草分别为3540—4550.7、2260和1215.7公斤。种籽平均亩产90.93公斤,最高达139.8公斤(刈青一次后的产量)。青干草的蛋白含量11.09—21.9%.籽实是较好的精饲料,含可消化蛋白83.03克/公斤(猪)。在相同的栽培条件下,81—01纤毛鹅观草比野生的产草量提高23.86—24.44%,粗蛋白含量提高28.65%。
