The powdered activated carbon was formulated as a 25% suspension in 0.5% carboxymethylcellulose sodium solution. This was the maximum concentration at which the animals can be aspirated and administered orally to the animals. Twenty healthy ICR mice and 20 SD rats each were male and female, and after 2 hours of fasting, each mouse had 25% powder activity.
