我国著名农业科学家、《达尔文全集》（１３卷）主译者叶笃庄先生是本刊的老作者。这篇文章是他不久前在病床上为本刊所写。 《达尔文全集》去年出版发行后，我国著名著作家曾彦修、李锐同志曾给叶老赠诗表示祝贺。诗中说：“铁骨铃铮叶笃庄，狱中磨笔译华章、坎坷自养浩然气，遂与真经共短长。”这里记述并赞扬了叶笃庄先生１９５８年被诬为“美国特务”后，身陷囹圄，仍为翻译《达尔文全集》而笔耕不辍。据悉叶老病情加重，本刊特将他的文章及友人赠诗一并发表，以示慰问并资留念。 Our famous agricultural scientist, “Darwin’s Complete Works” (Volume 13) the main translator Ye Duzhuang is the author of this publication.
