古郡巨鹿,历史悠久,人杰地灵。著名的项羽救赵破秦军史称“巨鹿之战”即发生于此。抗日战争时期,这里曾是冀南革命根据地的重要组成部分。进入21世纪的今天,河北省巨鹿县县委书记、人武部党委第一书记王素平,自觉履行党管武装“第一责任人”职责,以巾帼不让须眉之志,团结带领人武部党委“一班人”实现武装工作新突破,在冀南革命老区奏响了新时代支持武装工作的乐章。
