Objective To investigate the changes of peripheral blood immunoregulatory CD4 + CD25 + T cell subsets in patients with latent autoimmune diabetes (LADA) in adults and its significance. Methods 32 cases of LADA, 16 cases of T1DM, 25 cases of T2DM and 27 cases of normal control peripheral blood CD4 + CD25 +, CD3 + CD8 + T cells were detected by flow cytometry. Results ① The levels of CD4 + CD25 + T cells in peripheral blood of LADA group were lower than those in T1DM group, T2DM group and normal control group. ② The proportion of CD3 + CD8 + T cells in LADA group was significantly lower than that in T1DM group, FC-P, 2hC-P was negatively correlated. Conclusions The decrease of immunoregulatory CD4 + CD25 + T cells in LADA patients can not effectively maintain the tolerance to islet autoantigens. The increase of cytotoxic CD3 + CD8 + T cells and the destruction of islet β cells lead to the occurrence and development of autoimmune diabetes.
