吴调公(1914—2000)先生是著名的文艺理论家,笔者有幸与之共事三十年。如今调公先生已逝世十余载,但往昔交往的情景依然令人难忘。调公先生曾在给我的一封信中说“夙仰硕学,兼以交亲”(1987.4),我在为一位弟子的博士论文作的序中则说“调公先生为学界前辈,我经常登门向他请教,他亦不时光临舍间谈学,相处甚洽”(2000.7)。调公先生说在下“硕学”显为过誉,“交亲”倒是真切,而“亲”则为不断交往所聚成。
Wu Tung Kung (1914-2000) is a famous literary theorist who has the privilege of working with him for thirty years. Mr Tung has now passed away more than a dozen, but the past scene is still unforgettable. In a letter sent to me by the Commissioner Kung-kung, he said: “We have to look forward to studying for a long time and pay for our beloved ones” (1987.4). In the preface to a doctoral thesis for a disciple, I said: For academics predecessors, I often go door-to-door to consult him, he also from time to time to study, get along very harmonious “(2000.7).
