在《呐喊·自序》《俄文译本〈阿Q正传〉序及著者自叙传略》《藤野先生》等文章1中,鲁迅毫无例外地将自己弃医从文的原因与“幻灯片事件”联系起来。直到21世纪初,绝大部分中国大陆学者都相信鲁迅的说法。日本学者却经历了一个由怀疑到否定的过程:“以竹内好为代表的鲁迅研究者,认为鲁迅的传记叙述中存在‘传说化’和‘虚构’,但并未直接否认《藤野先生》的纪实性自传性;1960年代后《藤野先生》作为课文进入日本高中国语教科书,与此同时,有关作品的认定也发生了重要变化。那就是,由诸如究竟有无‘幻灯事件’,何以弃医从文的讨论和解读,变成了对《藤野先生》的体式定性,
