Reservoir siltation is an unsolved major issue in the construction of water conservancy and hydropower in the world at present. In recent years, the International Conference on Dams, the International Conference on Irrigation and Drainage, the International Hydraulics Conference and many other countries have begun to pay attention to the research on this topic. Research abroad mainly focuses on the law of sediment movement and siltation observation, but little progress has been made. The annual amount of sediment in the U.S. channel is about 4 billion tons per year, with more than 1.2 billion cubic meters of sedimentation each year. The annual soil erosion in the Soviet Union amounts to 50 to 60 billion cubic meters and the sedimentation of reservoirs exceeds twice the design. Due to reservoir siltation in Japan, the average annual water storage capacity has been reduced by 20%. In preventing the deposition of reservoirs, the Soviet Union advocated intensifying floods
