数学建模是一个世界性的研究课题,它起源于上世纪70年代末的英国剑桥大学。1983年开始在美国每两年举行一次数学建模与用模国际会议,与会国家逐步发展到了欧美、日本、澳大利亚、中国等近百个国家和地区。1985年美国率先举办全美大学生数学建模联赛,使大学生数学建模竞赛活动逐渐成为世界大学生活动的一大潮流。我国的大学生数学建模竞赛活动起步于1992年,虽然起步较晚,但近年来已成燎原之势。综观世界数学建模活动,各国均侧重于大学,中小学系统开展的还属凤毛麟角。尽管我国的九年义务教育《数学课程标准》非常重视数学的建模问题——在前言的第一页就三次提到了建模问题、三次提到了数学的用模(工具性)问题,但由于种种原因,中小学数学建模问题,仍然没有得到应有的重视,在中小学界进行数学建模教育的更是少之又少。不会建模就不会科研,不会用模就不会生活。为了更好地推广数学建模思想,提高中小学教师的数学建模意识,发展中小学生的数学建模能力,本刊从本期开始将陆续刊发一些有关小学数学建模的文章,以供大家参考,也欢迎广大读者踊跃参与。
