银杏是我国独有的珍稀树种,果珍材良,叶皮可入药,可制饮料,全身是宝。随着林业生产的发展,对银杏的开发利用越来越广泛。根据省委书记卢荣景同志有关“银杏是个很好的经济树种,投入少,见效快,效益高,非常适合农村经济发展需要,是农民增加收入的最有效途径,要作为林业第二次创业发展经济林的突破口,真正为群众办实事,办好事。”的指示精神,我市已把发展银杏列为林业二次创业的重要内容,当作功在当代,利在千秋的大事来抓,市政府即时下发通知,要求各地要把发展银杏作为带领农民脱贫致富奔小康的重要项目真正抓好,决定在“九五”规划期间全市发展成片银杏基地三万亩,充分利用村四旁栽植银杏二千二百万株,达到人均两株。银杏在我市也有着悠久的栽培历史,在蒙城县移村还保存两株西周时期栽植的银杏大树,生长期健壮,每年仍能正常结果。在毫州市、涡阳县、临泉县、太和县等地也还保存有百年以上大银杏树10余棵,三十年生以上的一百多株。现全市已栽植成片银杏1065万株,育银杏苗1513亩,目前成
