菜蜗牛(菜螺丝)(Helix sp.)是长沙市郊蔬菜主要害虫之一。在金盆区的农改乡、雨花乡、沙湖乡,文艺区的新合乡、桂花树乡、藕塘乡等蔬菜栽培地,历年来都有不同程度的发生,严重时往往造成缺苗,菜株矮化,减少产量等现象。据当地农民称,此种害虫,早在抗日战争时期就已在农改乡发现,迄今受害面积一天天扩大。由于目前缺乏有效的防治法,对蔬菜生产影响至大,包括荣获1956年全国蔬菜生产劳模的红旗合作社在内,各农业社对它都觉很为棘手,迫切要求解决这一问题。 Vegetable snail (Helix sp.)
