Due to the mobility of Stations (STAs) and time-variability of wireless channels in an Extended Service Set (ESS) of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) system,the Access Point (AP) load may be different from each other. The purpose of load balancing technology is to balance the load difference among AP’s so that the network resources can be efficiently utilized. The load-balancing algorithms in a WLAN system may be classified into STA/AP controlled load balancing or access-/handover-type load balancing.
