Chronic total occlusion (CTO) is the difficult point of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The requirements of the surgeon are very high, and the success rate of operation is low and the complication rate is high. Perioperative myocardial injury (periprocedural myocardial injury, PMI) is one of the complications of CTO-PCI. Relative to non-occlusive disease, CTO-PCI surgery involving larger branches and collateral vessels, easily lead to PMI. This article summarizes the causes and prevention and cure of CTO-PCI related PMI.
