In northwestern China, many people remember such a rumor: “riding a white horse, a long-handled gun and a mountain elder brother eat the food of the public ... The revolution’s determination to go home and see a girl is to take care of it ...” The birth of the first folk song is said to be closely linked with the local peasant revolution led by Liu Zhidan. Liu Zhidan also took a considerable amount of space in the “Travel of the West” book by Edgar Snow, the famous American journalist. All these are enough to witness the brief but magnificent life of the legendary Communists.
