OBJECTIVE: To investigate the characteristics of wear and its physiological significance by observing the physiological wear of different parts of upper and lower first molars. Methods: 551 maxillary first molar and 686 mandibular first molar were divided into mild, moderate and severe degree (absolute degree of wear) according to the degree of wear. According to the degree of wear of different parts of a single tooth (relative degree of wear) . Results: The degree of abrasion of the maxillary first molar was ranked as follows: near and far tongue tip> near and far edge of the edge> near and far buccal cusp; mandibular first molar order: distal tip, distal edge ridge> near and far Buccal> distal tongue> near the tip of the tongue, near the edge of the ridge. CONCLUSION: The maxillary first molars wear the most of the tongue, while the first molars of the mandible is the heaviest wear in the distal center, which may be related to the time and intensity of local bite force.
