OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of benazepril in the treatment of 46 patients with mild-to-moderate essential hypertension without any treatment and their effect on platelet function. Methods: Clinical curative effect was analyzed. Nephelometry and glass bead column method were used to determine the platelet aggregation rate and adhesion rate respectively. Results: Benazepril had a significant antihypertensive effect (P <0001). The antihypertensive effect was the highest in the first week, and decreased slightly in the second week, which had a greater effect on systolic blood pressure than diastolic blood pressure. There was no significant difference in heart rate (P> 005). Platelet adhesion rate was not significantly reduced (P> 0 05), 1 minute platelet aggregation was significantly reduced (P <0005), 5 minutes and the maximum aggregation rate was significantly lower (P <0001), after treatment with There was no significant difference between normal control group (P> 005). Paired analysis before and after treatment found that after treatment, platelet adhesion rate decreased, while the platelet aggregation rate increased, but no significant (P> 0 05). CONCLUSIONS: Initial untreated patients with essential hypertension are in a hypochromic state, and benazepril is a potent and safe first-line antihypertensive drug, but anticoagulant therapy should be considered in patients with hypercoagulable conditions .
