盐浴炉有加热快、温度均匀控制准确;能防止氧化脱碳;可以进行局部加热、分级等温淬火;以及炉型结构简单维修方便投资少等优点。近年来,盐炉加热虽因人造气氛炉的应用而有所减少,但我国目前热处理相当分散,大多属于中小批生产,普遍应用人造气氛炉还有很多问题。因此,盐浴炉仍然是很重要的加热设备。 盐浴炉已有很长的历史,近廿年来盐炉结构有不少的发展与创新。我国解放后50年代所用的盐浴炉基本上都是仿苏(C型)插入式电极盐浴炉和仿苏(B型)电加热坩埚盐浴炉,以及其他燃料加热的坩埚盐浴炉,60年代我国研制成功了埋入式金属电极盐浴炉、插埋式金属电极盐浴炉和用管状电热元件加热的低温盐浴炉,70年代在全国普遍推广了埋入式金属电极盐浴炉,还研制了埋入式可调石墨电极盐浴炉和交错“十字通道”盐浴炉。国外除上述
