稀土硝酸盐水盐体系的研究虽然有些报导但对硝酸稀土、硝酸镁、水三元体系的研究却很少。1929年Capua研究硝酸镧、硝酸镁、水体系在20℃的溶解度时,认为该体系为一简单体系没有复盐生成。1957年和报导上述体系在25℃和50℃的溶解度时得到组成为2La(NO_3)_3·3Mg(NO_3)_2·24H_2O复盐,以及复盐和六水合硝酸镧;复盐和六水合硝酸镁两个固溶体区域。除镧外其它稀土硝酸盐与硝酸镁、水体系的溶解度研究还未见诸文献。
