在中国当代油画潮流中,对意象表现主义油画与油画的意象表现性的界定,引起了颇多争议,成为不可规避的艺术现象。油画的意象表现性是建立在东方传统的文化意识形态链条之上,借鉴西方架上绘画的表现形式与技法,通过中国传统绘画的具象艺术元素和意象的抽象符号及情感表达方式,使主客体对象相互渗透的一种新的表现主义绘画风格。油画“似与不似之间的意象表达”蕴含了中国人特有的灵性、慧心,合情合理的人文特征及他们对人生目标的孜孜追求精神,是中国油画走向世界,建立独特的审美、评价标准的必然选择。
