This article uses programmable logic devices, VisualBasic language, and statistical methods (including error handling) to assess the position accuracy of the instrument. The method is especially suitable for evaluating the position accuracy of large-size measuring instruments. The experimental results show that the method can quickly, accurately and vividly give the evaluation results
