Soil and water are the basis of agricultural production. The main reason for the low and unstable grain yield in the Xishan area in our province is that soil and water loss have caused “thin soil and lack of fertility” and soil and water resources can not be effectively utilized. At present, in the transitional period where the terraces can not be water conservancy yet the terraces are not yet fully terraced, under the condition of the lack of fertilizers and the low fertility of the soil foundation, how to increase the yield per unit area of the dry terraces and sloping fields as soon as possible and give full play to the existing land and water resources The role of agricultural production in mountainous areas is an urgent problem to be solved. From 1965 onwards, we learned from the experience of the masses and successively held a series of workshops in Wangjiagou, Artemisia annua, Yuanjiazhuang, and Zhongyang counties in Zhaojiashan, Gaojiagou, Beijie, Zhangzishan and Shangjiayu in Lishi County, In different types of areas set up a number of tests to develop a kind of can in the terraced fields and slope farmland water storage, soil conservation, drought, high yield “yield ditch” planting method, generally double the yield, and some per kilogram Above, adding fertilizing measures to raw soil ridge, the second year can still be obtained high yield, is a wide variety of thin income for a few kinds of high yield and good income, welcomed by the masses. Many members also planted their own plots. In Zhongyang County Committee attaches great importance and strong support, in 1979 Nanchuan River Basin has been a comprehensive demonstration of scientific research to promote more than 1,500 acres.
