This paper mainly examines the semantics of the English and Chinese terms “any” and “any”, and holds that both are indefinite qualifiers and have the typical features of indefinite qualifiers - classifiers, donkey sentences and double The difference between quantification and indefinite qualifier lies in the connotation. The optional word only appears in the connotative context such as non-truth and non-state. “Any ” corresponds basically to “any ”, and its semantic explanation is roughly the same. The difference lies only in the syntactic structure. This paper explains the structure of “any capital ” by referring to mapping theory and extended mapping theory. It is pointed out that the co-occurrence of “” and “” is one of the means of Chinese syntax semantic mapping.
