图书馆是文明的标志、时代的镜子。在知识经济时代,图书管理人员被喻为知识领航员和智力咨询师。现代化图书管理系统的应用,给图书管理人员的工作职能带来重大变革,要求图书管理人员必须具备较高的综合素质,在网络信息时代下不断完善自己的知识体系,自觉增强自身业务素质和业务处理能力。较早开始个人知识管理研究的美国教授PaulDorsey提出了七种个人知识管理的技能与方法,这七项个人知识管理技能与方法也应是二十一世纪现代图书管理人员所必需的。
