The word Kwashiorkor is transliterated from Ghana, or “red child”, to severe proteinuria syndrome with altered skin and hair. Its clinical features are lagging behind, lack of energy, generalized edema, muscle atrophy, enlarged liver, accompanied by characteristic skin and hair changes. First reported by Cicely William et al. In 1931. In view of the serious threat to children’s life of this disease, there is no typical case report in our country, so we will report three cases reported in this hospital in 1961. A total of one case of cure, two deaths. In the course of these three cases, they both sought medical treatment on many occasions. All of them were treated according to local conditions or considered vitamin deficiency. However, they failed to face up to the lack of protein as the main cause. Special mention to arouse fellow attention.
