Objective To observe the effects of high-dose testosterone on the enzymatic cytochemistry in the kidney of female mice. Methods The effects of high-dose testosterone on the activity of mitochondrial enzyme (cytochrome C oxidase) and plasma membrane-bound enzyme (Na +, K + -ATPase) in renal tubular epithelial cells of female mice were observed by electron microscopy. ③ Results The cytochrome C oxidase activity in proximal and distal tubule epithelial cells of mice in control group showed high electron density. The activity of mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase in proximal and distal tubule epithelial cells of testosterone group was significantly decreased, The electron density decreased and the Na +, K + -ATPase activity in the plasma membrane folds of distal and proximal tubule epithelial cells decreased significantly. ④ Conclusion High-dose testosterone can cause changes in the ultrastructure of renal tubular epithelial cells, and energy metabolism and other functions related to the enzyme activity weakened
