遵义师范学院是一所拥有百年师范传统的学府,也是一所具有红色革命传统的学校,红军长征经过遵义的时候,毛泽东、朱德等老一辈革命家在原校址召开过万人大会,接受革命影响的学生们踊跃参加革命,从这里走出了周林、雍文涛、韩念龙、陈沂等老一辈革命家,学院由此成为黔北新思想、新文化的传播中心。遵义师范学院美术学院于2004年9月招收第一届美术学专业本科生。2011年4月,教育部高等教育司下文批准遵义师范学院为全国10所红色经典艺术教育示范基地之一,红色经典艺术教育示范基地(美术学方向)设在该院美术学院。美术学院现有美术学和艺术设计学两个专业,有基础绘画、油画、设计、中国画、中国书法、版画、美术理论7个教研室。现有专职教师31人,其中教授、副教授占22.6%,讲师占48.4%,具有研究生学历的教师占41.9%。近几年来,在教学和
