When it comes to the timeliness of newspapers, people first emphasize the timeliness of the news edition, but do not require timeliness for the supplement, or even think that the supplement does not require timeliness. This idea may have something to do with the newspaper’s original form. Newspapers are serial publications based mainly on news. The news boards containing news, communications and commentary are generally referred to as positive publications, and the various editions that extend from the news to provide theoretical, intellectual, cultural and practical advice are called supplements. Although early supplements originated from literary and recreational texts, it has been proved in practice that timeliness is still an important indicator for evaluating supplements.
