当前,中学生思想观念新颖,意识超前,性格鲜明,不墨守成规,思想开放,对新事物有很强的接受能力,对事物有自己的评判标准,喜欢标新立异,有活力,好冲动,好表现,等等。这些都是积极和主流的一面。但同时,由于中学生思想认识不成熟,社会实践经验少,分辨是非美丑能力弱,易于随波逐流。有的中学生一味赶时尚、追求怪异,过分地模仿港台娱乐明星,追求所谓的“酷”;有的奉行“实用主义”和“功利主义”,自私心态严重;有的思想空虚,沉溺于网络等虚幻的世界不能自拔;有的“重理轻文”,只看分数不看别的;有的没有忍耐心、宽容心,对社会和他人的疾苦漠不关心,麻木不仁;有的不懂得尊重他人,尤其不珍惜他人的劳动,甚至卑视劳动人民;有的漠视传统文化和民族精神,践踏诚信,无所信仰。种种迹象表明,加强对中学生进行思想道德教育已经迫在眉睫,刻不容缓。

Some middle school students are always rushing in fashion and pursuing weirdness, imitating Hong Kong and Taiwan entertainment stars excessively, pursuing the so-called “coolness”; some pursuing “pragmatism” and “utilitarianism” and serious selfishness; some thoughts are empty and indulge in the Internet. Such illusory worlds cannot extricate themselves; some “reconsiderate and swear” and only look at scores do not look at anything else; others do not have patience and tolerance, are indifferent to the suffering of society and others, and are indifferent; others do not know how to respect others. In particular, they do not cherish the work of others or even look down upon the working people; some ignore traditional culture and national spirit, trample on honesty, and have no faith. All the signs show that it is urgent to strengthen the ideological and moral education for middle school students.
