党的建设是事关党的执政地位的巩固和国家、民族前途命运的系统性工程。党的十八大报告指出:“我们党担负着团结带领人民全面建成小康社会、推进社会主义现代化、实现中华民族伟大复兴的重任。形势的发展、事业的开拓、人民的期待,都要求我们以改革创新精神全面推进党的建设新的伟大工程,全面提高党的建设科学化水平。”而基层党建工作是党的建设的重要环节,是巩固党的执政基础、促进基层单位全面发展的重要保证。企业党组织作为除党政机关之外的最重要也是最具有代表性的基层党组织,做好企业党建工作,对党的建设全局具有十分重大的意义。
