装饰类民间艺术一般只限指在二维的平面范围之内,有平面造型艺术的特征,无论是创作观念、表现方法、存在形式与一般所指的美术范畴更为接近,从中集中体现了民间艺人艺术创作的思维方式,具有朴素的艺术风格和造型特征。装饰类民艺由于受其装饰审美功能的限制主要以年画和剪纸为主,但总体种类和样式品种较多。
