随着海军在21世纪向前推进,长期的技术问题仍还存在。其中一个最古老而又最基本的反舰武器--水雷仍是问题最大而难以对付的。建制反水雷正成为舰队日益关心的事,这种原理能为在水下试验场的水面与水下平台提供水雷避撞训练。它以平台信号的实时测量(声、磁、水压等)及精确跟踪与瞬时水雷航行反馈为基础。当与试验场结合在一起时,此系统还允许平台与舰艇及一个试验场进行反潜战与反水雷的训练,这可以为舰队节约作战成本,还为执行并行多使命训练提供了更好的任务演练及协调。此理念建立在目前的水下跟踪、声通讯与水中传感器的通讯技术上,并可即时实现。
