非甾类抗炎药(简称抗炎药)是指一大类非皮质激素结构,而兼有抗炎、止痛和解热三大作用的药物。正因为它们不是皮质激素(简称激素),也不会引起人们通常担心的激素的不良反应,加之其独特的药理作用,使其在临床各科都有广泛用途,尤其在风湿科和骨科,已成为治疗各种关节炎和关节周围软组织疾病的首选药物。多年来,国内在这类药物中应用较多的有布洛芬、双氯芬酸和美洛昔康等。
