蚜虫属同翅目、胸喙亚目(Homoptera sternorrhyncha)的昆虫,对气候的适应性较强,我国大部分地区都有分布,给许多园林植物造成了较大的危害。蚜虫主要是刺吸植株地上部分的茎、叶,尤其是幼嫩部位,极少数也为害植物地下部分,可产生虫瘿,也有些绵蚜在寄主上越冬时造成叶片卷曲畸形或虫瘿等。由于1998年冬季出现了反常的暖冬天气,使许多病虫害的越冬繁衍体得以大量存活,为1999年的流行和危害提供了病虫源基数。经初步调查,3月底至4月初它已在许多园林植物上较重地发生了,如月季、蔷薇、忍冬、海棠、桃、木槿等植株上发生的月季长管蚜(Macrosiphum rosivorumZhang)、桃蚜(Myzus persicae
