再就业是当前和今后一个较长时期我国经济和社会发展中的一个突出问题,解决得好与否,直接关系到国民经济和社会发展的全局。党中央、国务院对此一直高度重视,短短一年时间内,连续召开两次会议,对促进就业和再就业工作作出全面部署,充分体现了新一届中央领导集体对这项工作的高度重视,体现了对广大人民群众切身利益的极端关切。积极促进下岗失业人员再就业,是摆在各级政府部门面前的一项重大而紧迫的政治任务。
