1976年7月28日发生的唐山地震,使7度至11度震区的铁路遭到不同程度的破坏。 震区铁路正线约1100延长公里,遭受震害的占48.3%;根据193卒桥梁的统计,受到损坏的占39.4%。地震时,地基大面积失效,路堤开裂、坍塌、沉陷,轨道弯曲变形,桥梁岸坡滑移,墩台倾斜断裂,梁体挤撞以至坠落。其他如通讯信号、站场设施、给排水系统以及工业民用建筑等也普遍遭受损坏。 运行中列车有7列出轨,部分车厢倾覆,铁路运输中断,震害十分严重。
The Tangshan earthquake on July 28, 1976, damaged the railway from 7 degrees to 11 degrees in the earthquake zone to varying degrees.
