推荐采用1978年实用盐标(PSS78)作为世界标准,要求很好地研究现有文献中的盐度数据,以便将它转换成新标度。这样给由普遍使用的盐度演算法中的六种最常用的方法转换成PSS78提供了基础。它将使海洋学家得以估计他们所感兴趣的范围内有无大的变化。
The 1978 Practical Salt Standard (PSS78) is recommended as a world standard, requiring good study of salinity data in existing literature in order to convert it to a new scale. This provides the basis for converting to PSS78 the six most commonly used methods in the commonly used salinity algorithms. It will enable oceanographers to assess whether there is any major change in the area they are interested in.
