科学技术和社会文化在同步迅猛发展,它们相互融合,渗透和依赖乃是一种必然。从培根开始,到爱因斯坦、贝尔纳,直至李政道和钱学森,无不把这种结合作为社会进步和人类自身向着更高阶段发展的重要标志。近年来,以《科技潮》为代表的新型的社会化的综合性科技期刊异军突起,它除了具有普及科学知识的责任外,还把科技与社会、经济、文化、信息融为一体,以科技文化的角度和方式,推进科技进步的步伐。可以认为,《科技潮》的出现,标志着我国非专业性的大众性的科学期刊,已进入新的发展时期。 《科技潮》虽然冠以“科技”的名目,其实不是一般意义上的科技刊物,它的读者对象不限于狭义的科技人员。《科技潮》是一本新型的以大众为读者对象的科学期刊。它风格新颖,文体多样,因而显得轻松活泼,亲切有趣。它的内容和范围已经把科技与文化融合一体,把历史和地理糅合于科技发展之中,更贯穿了人的作用与活动。它有近20个栏目,反映了中外古今科技与社会文化的各个方面
