This article discusses some of the issues that affect engineering education today. The main issues are: The public wants higher education to be measurable; companies want engineering disciplines to more quickly adapt their research direction and curriculum content to technology. US News and World Report publishes US engineering discipline rankings based on a variety of data collected over the years. In this paper, the analysis of ranking results confirms that quantity can be used as a measure of the quality of education.
