The characters of Hardy can be roughly divided into two kinds, one is the spiritual figure, the other is the flesh character. Most of Hades’ s spiritual figures have an alcoholic character, both with the ideal of emotion, but also keep the crystal soul of the figure. Most Hardy flesh lose their ideal and faith, full of sensual, lustful image. In this more conventional way, Shu Budedehe in Jude the Obsidian can be classified as a spiritual figure. Such spiritual figures often represent the ideal image of Hardy. This article focuses on this figure as a breakthrough point and analyzes the feminist background represented by this “spiritual figure.”
