西北地区的文化在历史上有一个逐步被边缘化的漫长过程,但与此同时,西北地区由于它特殊的地理位置和人文化环境,使它的文化艺术的原生态状况又得以较好的保存。自国家做出实施西部大开发的战略决策的十年以来,随着大开发战略的推进,西北地区城市化进程的加速、西北地区的经济得到了飞快的发展,人民生活水平得以提高,西北地区的美术事业也得到了长足的发展。经济文化的渐趋繁荣推动着视觉艺术的繁荣,促使西北地区架上绘画艺术逐渐开始向当代艺术的转型。逐步发展为一种能够反映当下西北地区社会发展变革和大众精神面貌的现代城市艺术,而今,对于西北地区架上绘画本身而言,如何在大开发背景下协调开发与保护、传承与发展的关系,从而更好地继承和发扬西北地区的人文传统和艺术资源,需要艺术家的不断实践和大量的学术研究来支撑。
In the history of Northwest China, the culture has a long process of gradual marginalization. At the same time, however, Northwest China has preserved its original state of culture and arts because of its special geographical location and cultural environment . Since the state made the strategic decision to implement the large-scale development of the western region for the past decade, with the advancing of the strategy for the great development and the acceleration of urbanization in the northwest region, the economy in the northwest has witnessed rapid development and the people’s living standards improved. The art career has also been considerable development. The gradual development of economy and culture has promoted the prosperity of visual arts and prompted the art of painting on the shelves in northwestern China to gradually begin its transformation to contemporary art. And gradually developed into a modern urban art that can reflect the contemporary social transformation and the spirit of the general public in Northwest China. Nowadays, how to coordinate the development, protection and inheritance and development of the painting in the northwestern region under the background of large-scale development? So as to better inherit and carry forward the humanities traditions and artistic resources in the northwestern region and need the continuous practice of artists and a large amount of academic research to support it.
