The U.S. Baltimore Sun published a signed article on October 11th that “China’s economic patience keeps it from being hit by the Asian crisis.” The article holds that after more than a year after the economic crisis began to swell across Asia, China remained a land of political stability and relative prosperity. Japan was in a recession, Malaysian protesters took to the streets, and decades of economic progress in Indonesia went to nothing, while China’s economic growth, though slowing, remained quite strong.
