针对电气专业英语教学目标、教学内容、教学方法、教学进度安排、能力培养及考核方式等方面存在的问题进行了分析,并给出了相应的改进方法。指出教学内容安排上要注意系统性和完整性,覆盖电力专业基础课程和专业课程的大部分内容;注意电气行业的新技术与新进展,避免陈旧过时内容的出现;难度要适中,避免将电气专业英语的教学内容变成专业理论或科普知识。教学方法上要注意用通俗易懂的语言讲述电气专业的基本概念、基本原理和基本分析方法,避免大量烦杂深奥公式的推导,使专业英语的学习变成专业课的学习;注重采用多媒体辅助教学模式提高教学效果。教学进度安排上要注意与专业课的教学相协调,注重知识的衔接顺序。能力培养上要体现专业英语教学的特点与目的,注重专业词汇的积累和专业英语阅读能力、写译能力、听说能力的培养。在考核方式上要注重科学性,真正达到对教学效果考核的目的。
