《中共中央关于加强和改进思想政治工作的若干意见》和中央军委《关于改革开放和发展社会主义市场经济条件下军队思想政治建设若干问题的决定》下发后，各地认真贯彻落实，并已取得明显效果，从思想上政治上建设部队，大力加强思想政治工作，是消防部队的优良传统和政治优势。新的形势和任务，给消防部队思想政治工作提出了更高的要求。作者从消防部队政治工作难度成因、消防官兵的特点出发，认为加强和改进新时期消防部队思想政治工作，要注重针对性、预测性和实效性，做到有的放矢。
Several Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Work and the Decision of the Central Military Commission on Several Issues Concerning the Ideological and Political Construction of the Armed Forces under the Conditions of Reform and Opening up and the Development of a Socialist Market Economy were issued and all localities earnestly implemented and obtained Obvious effects. Ideologically and politically building the army and vigorously strengthening ideological and political work are the excellent traditions and political advantages of the fire brigade. The new situation and tasks set higher requirements for the ideological and political work of the fire brigade. Based on the causes of the difficulty of the political work of the fire brigade and the characteristics of the fire brigade and firemen, the author believes that to strengthen and improve the ideological and political work of the fire brigade in the new era, we should pay attention to the pertinence, predictability and effectiveness and aim at it.
