中国工笔人物画历史源远流长,最早可以追溯到两千多年前的战国时期,工笔人物画在中华民族的历史长河中曲折发展,隋唐时期工笔人物画进入鼎盛时期,出现“百家争鸣”的局面。20世纪世界经济、文化进入全面发展融合的黄金时期,西方绘画对工笔人物画产生了深远的影响,这使得工笔人物画在继承传统工笔画语言的基础上,大量吸收了西方透视、解剖等知识,产生了对造型、构图、材质等的变化,这些变化大大推动了工笔人物画发展到一个新的高度。
