Objective: To investigate the adaptability and compliance of adolescents using invisible holders and their relationship with personality traits. Methods: Fifty patients with adolescent orthodontics were enrolled. After the orthodontic appliances were removed, they were kept in a transparent pressure-type invisible cage. Two months after the invisible holder was worn, the patient’s compliance with and compliance with the invisible holder was investigated. Patient personality characteristics were evaluated using the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire. Spearman rank correlation in the SAS 8.0 package was used to assess the relationship between stealth holder compliance and compliance and personality traits in patients. Results: 42 patients completed the questionnaire. 76% of the patients reported that the stealth cage had no mucosal irritation, and 95% reflected that it did not affect daily activities. However, 75% of the respondents said they had a foreign body sensation, and 71% of the respondents reported having an effect on pronunciation. In addition, 40% of patients wear less than 18 hours, 31% had left behind the holder, 83% can not brush their teeth after eating. The higher the emotional instability in the personality traits, the greater the impact of the cage on the chewing, the correlation coefficient was 0.32; the stronger the mental quality, the more the cage foreign body sensation and the facial muscle soreness were more obvious, the correlation coefficients were 0.31 And 0.35. However, the stronger the psychic, the less effect the holder has on emotion, the correlation coefficient is -0.34; the more outward-oriented patients, the more frequent the occurrence of cage damage, the correlation coefficient is 0.31. Conclusion: Adolescent stealth retainer adaptability, but poor compliance. The adaptability and compliance of the invisible holder are related to the patient’s personality characteristics. Prompted young patients choose invisible appliance should pay attention to patient compliance, can be predicted by personality traits.
