Its predecessor was the Northeast Anti-Japanese Volunteers, the Northeast Anti-Japanese Guerrillas and the Northeast People’s Revolutionary Army. In the rear of the Japanese invaders, their 14-year hard struggle contained hundreds of thousands of Japanese-puppet regular troops and effectively supported the war of resistance in Japan throughout the country. During the course of the two anti-UN expeditions, they conducted two important fierce battles in the North and North River areas of North An-chian.
